Market share of eco-friendly cars jumped to 8.2% in South Korea last year

South Korea is becoming a more eco-friendly nation,... at least when it comes to vehicles on the road.
According to the Korea Automobile Manufacturers Association on Sunday,… the share of environment-friendly vehicles in the South Korean market... was seen at 8-point-2 percent last year.
In 2018, the number of eco-friendly vehicles, including hybrid and all-electric cars,... reached nearly 125-thousand units, soaring 26-point-2 percent from a year earlier.
The rise is being attributed to a number of factors... such as the expansion of government subsidies and changing consumer preferences.
In comparison,... the market share of eco-friendly vehicles was seen at 6-point-6 percent in Western Europe... and 3-point-9 percent in the U.S.
