The volume of exports by Korean small-and-medium-sized companies reached a record high last year thanks to a boom in semiconductors and the popularity of Korean cosmetics.
Data by the Ministry of SMEs and Startups shows exports increased eight-percent from a year earlier to 114-point-6-billion U.S. dollars last year,... the second straight year it surpassed the 100-billion-dollar mark.
Shipments of manufacturing equipment for semiconductors rose 34 percent on year, while those of cosmetics soared by nearly 28 percent.
Cosmetics exports climbed sharply to Russia and Indonesia... as well as China and the U.S.
