NewsX: Gujarat Minsiter Babu Bhai Bokhiria gets stay against conviction by Porbandar Court. Earlier Porbandar trial court had convicted the minister in Mine Scam sentencing three years jail.
The Porbandar district and sessions court had fixed July 20 as the date for pronouncing its verdict on petitions of Water Resources. Minister Babu Bokhiria and three others seeking stay on their conviction in the Rs. 54-crore illegal limestone mining case of 2006.
Bokhiria, former Congress MP and his relative Bharat Odedra, Bhima Dula Odedra and Lakshman Bhima Odedra were pronounced guilty on June 15 in the case of illegally mining limestone worth 54 crore from lease area of Saurashtra Chemical Ltd, a company which runs a cement plan near Porbandar.
