The Delhi High Court on Tuesday dismissed the anticipatory bail plea of former Delhi law minister Somnath Bharti, accused of domestic violence by his wife Lipika Mitra. "The plea has been dismissed," Justice Suresh Kait said while dismissing Bharti's plea. The High Court had on September 15 granted Bharti, an Aam Aadmi Party legislator from Malviya Nagar, protection against arrest till September 17 and sought a police report on the status of investigation in the case.
