Former Maharashtra Minister Gulabrao Deokar, who has been under fire in connection with bungling of Rs 46 crore, was on Tuesday arrested. He is an MLA of NCP, which is an ally of Congress-led ruling dispensation in the State.

His name appeared in 5-year old housing scam in Maharashtra. This bungling of fund was reported in the scheme meant for providing houses to the poor in Jalgaon district.

Deokar had moved to the Supreme Court to evade his arrest in this case but after the rejection of his plea by the Apex Court, his arrest had become imminent.
