The tussle between Shiv Sena and the Maharashtra government over a temporary memorial of Balasaheb Thackeray is taking an even uglier turn. Maharashtra Chief Minister Prithviraj Chavan gave a stern message to the Shiv Sena leadership. In an interview, Chavan categorically said that Shiv Sainiks have to abide the law and clear out of Mumbai's Shivaji Park, which has practically become a makeshift memorial for the late Shiv Sena leader. Chavan made it clear that Shivaji Park was given to the Shiv Sena just for Bal Thackeray's cremation. But ever since his death, the Shiv Sena has pressed for a memorial to be built at Shivaji Park. In fact, on Sunday party workers gathered at Shivaji Park amid reports that the authorities were planning to remove temporary structure. The BMC has also sent a notice to Shiv Sena to dismantle the temporary structure built at the Shivaji Park.
