The Shiv Sena-BMC faceoff over Bal Thackeray memorial moves towards a resolution after the Sena agreed to blink first. Shifting of the Balasaheb Thackeray temporary memorial at Shivaji Park is expected to begin today after a statement to this effect by the Shiv Sena. Shiv Sainiks consider the temporary structure as "sacred" and they had been regularly visiting the site and paying obeisance to the departed leader. The BMC had served notices to Mayor Sunil Prabhu and Raut, asking them to immediately remove the memorial from Shivaji Park in Central Mumbai.
