India News: INS Sindhurakshak sinks, Navy Chief visits site

Mumbai: Indian Navy's frontline submarine INS Sindhurakshak sank at the Naval dockyard after it caught fire following multiple explosions on board early Wednesday. The fate of 18 personnel, including three officers, who were on board remains uncertain. Another submarine INS Sindhuratna has also been reportedly damaged in explosions.

Meanwhile, Navy Chief Admiral Devendra Kumar Joshi arrived in Mumbai and is assessing damage to submarines and loss to the Indian Navy. The blast followed by a fire occurred shortly after midnight on INS Sindhurakshak, a Kilo class submarine of the Indian Navy.
