India News : Uttarakhand Flood 2013 - Heavy rain hampers rescue operations

India News: Since last night heavy rain has hit rescue operations in Uttarakhand where nearly 6500 people still stranded. Helicopters are unable to take off due to bad weather.
Many of those who were rescued by the Army earlier are unable to leave the state as landslides have blocked highways. According to the Met department, the weather is unlikely to improve at least till the next three days.
It would be difficult to ward off the outbreak of deadly diseases in the already ravaged hills.
