00:00In the northeastern part of India, our seven sister states are battered and essentially battling flood and landslide concerns.
00:10A death toll, unfortunately, from rain-triggered, flash floods and lightning across the northeastern region has increased.
00:18Let's take a look at some of the destruction.
00:20Pictures of devastation across the seven sister states.
00:23The following heavy and confusing rules, downpours in Sikkim, the Tishtarava waters level surged.
00:30In North Sikkim, a section of the under-construction Sankalang Bridge was swept away by the rising waters.
00:35Heavy rain continued to lash Assam, destructing road transport and train services across the northeastern state.
01:00So far, eight people have lost their lives due to floods and landslides there.
01:10Torrential rainfall over the past five days in Manipur has caused widespread flooding across the Impal Valley, affecting around 3,802 residents, resulting in the death of 64 domestic inmates.
01:23The Indian Air Force launched a critical humanitarian assistance and disaster relief mission in Assam in Arunachal, Pradesh, where 14 individuals were stranded in the flooded Bamjee River in Arunachal.
01:38It was safely rescued by a helicopter.
01:40Northeast India is struggling after incessant rainfall with the past week in several places.
01:52Rains have triggered landslides, disrupting daily life.
01:55Roads are waterlogged, houses destroyed, rivers overflowing.
01:59In Sikkim, water from the Tisthar River crossed the danger mark.
02:03It's led to the collapse of bridges that were under restoration.
02:06In Assam, over 3 lakh people across 19 districts have been affected.
02:10Three major rivers, the Brahmaputra, the Barak and the Kushia, are flowing above the danger level.
02:16The situation is similar in other northeastern states.
02:19Rescue operations are underway by the NDRF, the SDRF, the Indian Army and the State Police and Services, Fire Services.
02:26Yesterday, the Indian Air Force responded to requests from the Assam and Arunachal, Pradesh State Administrations.
02:3314 individuals who stranded in the middle of the flooded Bamjee River in Arunachal were airlifted to safety.
02:44I'm going straight across to my colleague joining us from Guwahati at this point in time.
02:49Tapas Sengupta is with us.
02:51Tapas, in fact, I was in Guwahati just yesterday and I've been witness really to the kind of devastation
02:56that we are seeing across.
02:58There was flooding, slight respite yesterday is what I saw.
03:02What are you seeing right now in front of you?
03:04Just give us a sense of the current situation and what is the warning for days to come ahead.
03:08Only the respite as far as Guwahati is concerned that it's not raining very hard since morning.
03:18We landed here in Guwahati this morning and it's been gristling basically.
03:23But as far as the alerts are concerned, Assam, Manipur and Sikkim is under red alert.
03:29That's from the IMD and they have categorically stated that there's a possibility of heavy to very heavy rainfall in these regions.
03:36Already, Brahmaputra River is about to touch the red level.
03:42But on the other hand, in Tista, if you talk about in the Sikkim area, especially in North Sikkim area,
03:48the Tista waters have been flowing over the danger mark.
03:51And not only that, there are several places in northern part of Sikkim, which remains to be completely inundated,
03:57especially Lachung, Lachen, these areas, tourists are stranded in those areas as well.
04:02And apart from that, if we talk about Manipur, we're just getting reports from Manipur
04:06that our IMFAL River is flowing over the danger levels.
04:11There are few embankments which have been affected.
04:13Efforts are being made to repair those embankments, but the rain, the incessant rain is causing difficulty for the rescue operations to take place smoothly.
04:25Overall, in Arunachal Pradesh, also landslides reports coming in from different parts of Arunachal Pradesh, which is also badly affected.
04:32So next, 24 to 72 hours remains to be very crucial in order to see whether or not the situation deteriorate here.
04:40But as of now, the state government of Assam, Manipur, Sikkim, all are on high alert.
04:46The SDRF, the NDRF, the Army, Assam Rifles, Air Force are all pressing to service to rescue people who have been stranded in far-flung places.
04:56And as far as Assam is concerned, Lachenpur remains to be one of the worst affected areas and parts of Nagao as well.
05:03The people outskirts of Guwahati is also affected.
05:06But as I said, the good news is, though drizzling since morning, the people here in Guwahati have not witnessed heavy to very heavy rainfall.
05:15But there is an alert from the IMD department that there is a red alert and heavy to very heavy rainfall is expected in parts of Assam, Arunachal Pradesh, Manipur and Sikkim.
05:26All right, I'm going to leave it there.
05:28Tapas and Gupta getting in those details.
05:30Slight respite as far as Guwahati, the gateway to the northeast there is concerned.
05:35But there is a red alert in many other states.
05:37Remember, these are seven states who have been badly affected.
05:41Landslides have been reported from across these seven states.
05:45And there have been deaths as well.
05:46Unfortunately, several people have been killed across the northeastern region.
05:51The following days of relentless monsoon rains have triggered widespread landslides and flash floods.
05:57Authorities have issued alerts across the region as more rain looms.
06:17Waterlogged routes.
06:21And overflowing rivers.
06:41Relentless rains, floods and landslides causing widespread destruction in northeast.
06:46Parts of Assam, Arunachal Pradesh, Meghalaya, Manipur and Sikkim are hit hard.
07:01In Assam, thousands across five districts have been affected.
07:07The Brahmaputra river has crossed the danger mark in Dibrugar.
07:12Dibrugar and Lakhimpur reeling under the impact.
07:15Those in low-lying areas have been put on alert.
07:20In Manipur,
07:49unrelenting rainfall in Imphal Valley for five days affected thousands.
07:56Hundreds of houses have been damaged.
08:00Imphal, Nambul and Iril rivers are in spate.
08:03Reaching banks, flooding roads.
08:05A massive landslide shot the national highway at Lakhop.
08:15Gawana Ajay Bhalla visited affected zones and ordered evacuations.
08:19In Arunachal Pradesh, flash floods claimed multiple lives.
08:28They also destroyed dams, bridges and roads.
08:42Landslides have left NH13 severely damaged.
08:45Evacuation operations have been underway.
08:47And in Sikkim, landslides have left hundreds of tourists stranded.
09:06A portion of the under-construction Sankalang bridge in North Sikkim collapsed and was washed
09:11away by the Thistar River.
09:12The other day of the land is still there.
09:19We have been in the city of Lakhop.
09:21In Lakhop, our tourists are still in the area.
09:24This is one of the streets.
09:25This is one of the streets that we connect to Lakhop.
09:29We connect to Lakhop.
09:31We connect to Lakhop.
09:33In Mizoram, multiple houses have collapsed due to heavy rains.
09:47Several flood-related deaths have been reported.
09:52Landslides have also hit the state capital Isol, blocking arterial roads.
09:58In response to severe flooding across parts of Assam and Manipur,
10:02the Indian Army and Assam Rifles have launched Operation Jal Rahat 2.
10:09Disaster response teams are braving the deluge to pull hundreds into safety.
10:15Bureau Report, India Today.
10:25News coming in this morning.
10:27This has got to do with changes within the BCCI.
10:30Rajiv Shukla, we hear, is likely to take over as the top post.
10:34Shukla, who is currently Vice President of the BCCI, may take over BCCI acting president.
10:41Since current BCCI president's age is, in fact, he's retiring as per the constitution.
10:46I'm going to go straight across from Nitin Srivastava.
10:48Nitin, I understand that the current president is going to be turning 70
10:52and that's the age of retirement in a sense.
10:54So, Shukla possibly is going to be taking over as the interim president.
10:59What is the procedure?
11:00What is it that you're picking up?
11:01Well, absolutely.
11:04That is what, you know, my sources are saying.
11:06Because current president, Roger Binney, he'll turn, you know, 70 on 19th of July.
11:12And as per the BCCI constitution, you know, if you are 70, you have to, you know, relieve your job.
11:20So, in that case, since Raju Shukla, he is the current Vice President of the Board.
11:26So, by default, he'll be, you know, taking the charge as BCCI.
11:29And that is the interim arrangement because, you know, in September,
11:34the, you know, annual general meeting and elections of BCCI is pending.
11:37So, for these three months, you know, Shukla, Raju Shukla,
11:41he will take over as the BCCI top boss, BCCI president after 19th of July.
11:45So, basically, he'll take the charge after 19th of July, since September.
11:48And after September, there will be an election where, you know, all the posts will go on.
11:55But as of now, that is what I am being told, that it is going to happen.
11:59Raju Shukla has also been informed that he will actually, you know,
12:03take over the job as BCCI president.
12:05And Roger Binney, he'll be retiring because, you know, age is not permitting him to go ahead.
12:13Alright, Roger Binney's age wouldn't be permitting him to continue.
12:17So, essentially, this is only a stopgap kind of an arrangement.
12:21Nitin, is what you are telling us?
12:22Because after three months, there would be elections that would be carried out.
12:28Well, of course, that is what I am saying.
12:30You see, since Roger Binney is turning 70 on 19th of July,
12:34and from 19th of July till September, there is a three month of time where Raju Shukla will take over as BCCI president.
12:42So, he'll be handling both, you know, posts as BCCI president and also as BCCI president.
12:48This is going to be an interim arrangement for now.
12:51And after September, you know, AGM will be called and then, you know, the formal process will go on to conduct the BCCI election.
12:59But for these three months, from 19th of July till September, Raju Shukla will be the stable then.
13:05Leaving it at that for the moment, I'm going to thank you, Nitin, getting in those details.
13:10We'll, of course, continue to keep coming back to you for more on that big developing story.
13:15We have, in fact, more news coming in.
13:23Let's take a look at these developments.
13:25I'm being told that there is more news coming in.
13:28Let's take a look at these developments vis-a-vis what is happening as far as the BJP in Bengal is concerned.
13:35The stage is set for Battleground Bengal.
13:38Amit Shah has sounded the poll bugle and has claimed that the state will get a BJP chief minister in 2026.
13:45The big question is, can BJP's Sindur and TMC's Khela in Bengal?
13:51Take a look at this report for more.
14:15The battle for Bengal intensifying.
14:39Home Minister Amit Shah sounding the poll bugle.
14:46Predicting BJP's win in next stage polls, ousting Mamata.
14:52Shah's war cry, Mamata hattau, Bengal bachau.
14:55Amit Shah's visit comes as part of BJP.
15:25strategy to make its cadder battle ready.
15:28Shah vowed that BJP will fall Mamata Banerjee's long cherished dream of making her nephew the chief minister.
15:35Shah accused Mamata of bringing in lawlessness, infiltration, scams and targeted attacks on Hindus for Muslim appeasement.
16:00Vowing to stop the rot when BJP grabs power.
16:05But Mamata Banerjee's TMC is pushing back.
16:33TMC hit back at Home Minister's scam charges, calling him the head of BJP's washing machine campaign.
16:41TMC also accused Amit Shah of using cheap language against Mamata and promoting divisive politics.
16:47The home minister comes to Bengal and acts like a BJP karyakarta.
16:54Would any opposition leader like this be allowed to go to Gujarat and speak in Gujarat in the way Mr. Amit Shah has come to Bengal and Netaji in Netaji Indo Stadium, the way he has spoken in this cheap language?
17:09This verbal battle comes just days after PM Modi's visit to Bengal, where he accused the TMC government of being a Nirmam Sarkar, which is blind to the plight of people facing violence in Murshidabad and Maldam.
17:23Modi's attack had prompted Mamata to hit back hard.
17:50Daring the PM into a televised debate with his teleprompter.
17:55If you do this work in a day, you have so much courage to sit in a TV station.
18:00You will be in a fight with us in a TV station.
18:01You will be in a fight with us in a TV station.
18:05You will be in a fight with us in a TV station.
18:07Whatever subject is, you will be able to take the teleprompter.
18:11As we inch closer towards 2026, it's clear that Bengal's future will be determined not just by the issues of the state, but also by larger national narratives.
18:24But the bigger question is, can BJP's Sindur end TMC's Khela in Bengal?
18:32Bureau Report, India Today.
18:34More news coming in.
18:43This is a story developing from West Bengal, where BJP's Dilip Ghosh seems to be sidelined here.
18:49Dilip did not turn up at the Prime Minister's and the Home Minister's West Bengal rally.
18:52Days after Dilip Ghosh and Mamata Banerjee's meeting and greet, which went viral, which you can see in your screens at this point in time, there is speculation that all is not well.
19:07Dilip Ghosh says he was not invited for Modi and Shah events, a former BJP president of West Bengal, in fact.
19:16Dilip Ghosh was not seen in the rally of the Prime Minister, nor was he seen in Amit Shah's program in Kolkata.
19:21Questions obviously being raised, whether Dilip Ghosh had been completely sidelined by the party.
19:29Anupam is getting in more details in that story.
19:31Anupam, essentially Dilip Ghosh has just recently been married and this was a meeting with Mamata Banerjee, which was being seen as more like a courtesy call, isn't it?
19:40After his wedding.
19:41But this seems to have not gone down well, perhaps, with the leadership?
19:45Or what else could be the reason?
19:46Tell us more. What's brewing?
19:51Well, Sneha, we have seen that when Prime Minister Narendra Modi came to North Bengal, Dilip Ghosh was absent.
19:57And now in Kolkata, when Amit Shah did a rally and he spent almost a day in Kolkata, Dilip Ghosh was absent from all his programs.
20:06So when we asked him, he said that we have not been invited by the party.
20:11But the thing is, the sources inside the party are telling us that since Dilip Ghosh was invited in the Jagannath Temple inauguration by Mamata Banerjee and he went there with his wife and his posing up with Mamata Banerjee was not gone down well with high ranks of BJP.
20:30And that could have been the reason why Dilip Ghosh has been sidelined by the party.
20:35You know, Dilip Ghosh has always been a very popular leader in Bengal and he is one of the most successful crowd-puller leader in Bengal, BJP.
20:44But the way he has been sidelined, it shows that party has not taken, it's taken, being posing up with Mamata Banerjee as very good.
20:54And this, this is the main reason the party sources are saying that he has been sidelined by the party.
21:01All right, that's what we're picking from our sources.
21:04In fact, listening to what Dilip Ghosh had said, you know, spoken about the fact that he was not invited.
21:09Listen in.
21:10We are not invited to come from the country.
21:40And even Tara Jira, Dishan, and Sheta, Amra Paran Kogu.
21:42more news coming in at this point in time baloch fighters claim big attacks on pakistan army
21:54multiple baloch strikes in iran kuwaita pakistan army force have been hit in the baloch attack
22:00baloch forces take control of pakistan police station two pakistan army personnel have
22:06reportedly been killed these are pictures coming in take a look at these developments

22:16baloch fighters claiming a big attack on the army there multiple strikes in and around kuwaita
22:23pakistan army force have been hit in this attack i'm going to go straight across to pranay upadha
22:31for more details pranay give us a sense of what is happening i understand that two pakistan army
22:36personnel have been killed in this attack what more can you tell us
22:40uh yes neha the reports which are coming in from pakistan uh clearly indicates that the baloch
22:46liberation army and its freedom uh its uh activists have targeted the occupying army uh this is what
22:52the baloch liberation army has said in a statement that they have taken control of various police
22:57stations and uh and posts in mustang area you would recall neha that a few days ago we have also seen
23:03the reports coming from the sarab district of pakistan where the where the many many important
23:08installations have been occupied by the bla fighters and this clearly shows that the kuwaita
23:13region and the balochistan uh the other parts of the the balochistan are heavily uh like you know
23:18the heavy fighting is going on and the pakistan army is uh facing face uh like you know a strong
23:25resistance from the baloch liberation army freedom fighters uh they which took control of the vali khan

23:35places in by in balochistan area especially the kuwaita karachi main highway uh which has been blocked
23:41uh for for many few hours now now and uh the the armed forces and the the frontier core of the
23:48of the pakistan army is facing stiff resistance as far as uh these uh you know to liberating or to uh to
23:54vacate these areas which are now under control of baloch liberation army also sneha you would recall that
23:59uh not long ago on 19th of february the pakistan senior politician uh maulana fazul rahman uh said
24:05on the floor of the pakistan national assembly clearly indicating that many areas of balochistan as well
24:10as the khabar pakhtunkwa are not in control of pakistan police administration and not even the
24:16pakistan army can go in that area even uh maulana fazul rahman went to the extent of saying that if
24:23tomorrow uh if these districts uh pronounce or proclaim their independence you and might recognize
24:29them and we may lose these areas so this is a very telling statement uh which came from maulana
24:34fazul rahman and the subsequent incidents are clearly indicating that whatever uh you know now
24:39field marshal uh and pakistan's army chief general arson arseem hunir might say about the vla but uh there
24:45the situation is really grim as far as the control of pakistan army and armed forces there in balochistan
24:50all right i'm going to ask you to be with us for the moment for an hour they're getting in those
24:55details telling us about the multiple baloch strikes in and around the very very restive
25:00kuwaita region more news coming in let's take a look
25:03a news coming in from pakistan again where the parched country panics as the china flow dries up
25:17pakistan fears ruined kari crop low food heat pakistan reservoirs are running dry india's waters
25:25stride pakistan faces a dry spell here pakistan backs terror and clearly is paying price
25:32pranay continues to be with us pranay in fact the repercussions of the suspension
25:37or the abeyance of the indus water treaty here gradually being seen in pakistan
25:43but this is also the clear indication of pakistan's mismanagement of water resources pakistan is a
25:56water-scared country they are water deficient uh and uh pakistan has to manage uh their water
26:02resources uh in an efficient way but this clearly shows that pakistan never thought that uh you know
26:06india notices the previous uh you know statements uh they did not take india's statement seriously and
26:12this is the clear all right pranay getting in those details at this point in time and telling us
26:19about how this is not just about the indus water treaty but also on sheer mismanagement on the part
26:25of pakistan india has cornered pakistan on all fronts and the terror state is facing heat the
26:33admission comes from pakistan prime minister shaibash sharif himself who's once again raised concerns
26:39about his country's struggling economy shaibash asserted that world does not expect pakistan to come
26:46with a begging bowl
26:47i'm in military flare-up with india debt-ridden pakistan is facing a financial crunch like never before
27:05this time the admission has come from the park pm himself pakistan prime minister shaibash sharif
27:11reminded his country that nations do not want pakistan to come with a begging bowl
27:16now sharif indicated that pakistan begging for financial aid is clouding its focus on trade
27:22investment and development
27:24i am the last person along with field marshal saeed asamonee to carry this burden anymore on my shoulder
27:35the natural resources human resources all the mighty has blessed us with we must make full use of it
27:44and deploy them for these very profitable ventures
27:49past pakistan is also feeling the heat over india choking indus water
27:55after prime minister shaibash sharif accused india of weaponizing indus water india hit back
28:01at the u.n blaming park origin terror for india's big water choke
28:08so where does this treaty stand
28:34despite multiple reverses pakistan is yet to amend its ways
28:42islamabad is being accused of using the imf funds to stage protests against india's operation sindur envoys
28:49so as we were coming here we saw some flags and you all would know what those flags are
28:57and i thought to myself the imf loan is coming handy
29:01and i hope those who are giving them the imf loans realize what it's being used for
29:08so just two minutes ago i just walked outside to check have they left and i was told yes they want
29:15while pakistan refuses to learn the message india's stand has been resolute
29:23zero tolerance for terror bureau report india today
29:27more news coming in at this point in time this has got to do with the tamiladu university sex abuse
29:41sentencing which is today the unniac university sexual abuse case quantum of punishment
29:46is going to be pronounced today
29:51on the 28th day of may on all 11 charges

30:22this was on the 28th the university had seen a series of protests i'm going to go now straight across
30:28to promote mother getting in more details on that story
30:32essentially this is the quantum of punishment which is going to be pronounced
30:37take us through the details from all of what is expected what is the court on the 28th of may has said
30:44what more can you tell us
30:46certainly this is one of the cases that completely shocked the state of tamiladu
30:50because it occurred inside the university called as anna university
30:53which is one of the actual like very important universities in the state of tamiladu
30:58and it's in the capital city of chennai supposed to be a place extremely secured and protective but
31:03what happened is that this student went ahead and she came i think he filed a complaint
31:06that this person called as yana segren entered the premises and around 8pm she was sexually assaulted
31:12threatened and blackmailed and after this it turned out to be a political issue because
31:16questions were started to be like you know raised about the safety and security of women students
31:20especially imagine if something happens like this inside another university itself and
31:24after madras high court's intervention a special investigation team was created and that special
31:29investigation team after investigation went ahead and filed the uh 100 pages charge sheet where
31:35yana segren was solely concerned as the accused in the case and 11 charges were filed against him
31:40and on 28th may just like you mentioned yana segren was found guilty on all charges and the punishment
31:46is to be announced today probably another 10 5 10 or 15 minutes maximum as the judges have arrived and
31:51accused yana segren has also been brought to the uh court here all right i'm going to leave it that
31:57for the moment for more getting in those details the quantum of punishment sentencing is going to be
32:01pronounced today this had got to do with the sexual abuse case that was reported in anna university
32:08this was the anna university campus in chennai last year

35:18including tu-95 tu-22 strategic bombers that russia uses to fire long-range missiles at ukraine
35:26the strikes also cause a huge blast in several most one of the key cities for the russian navy when
35:32nuclear-armed submarines are maintained the strikes up to 4 300 kilometers deep inside russia simultaneously
35:41hit four russian military air bases and the naval base in several most russia's defense ministry has
35:47called it a terror attack across five regions and said that all attacks were repelled
35:52in general in the operation was used 117 drones and the corresponding number of operators
36:02of drones worked. It was affected by 34% of strategic missiles of rocket rockets on aeroidromes
36:11in aeroidromes in aeroidromes in aeroidromes in aeroidromes. Our people
36:14used to neroidromes in aneroidromes in aneroidromes outsideFluss, living in aeroids
36:18of three-walking regions, living in aneroidromes in aeroidromes in aeroidromes in aeroidromes in aeroidromes in aeroidromes in aneroidromes.
36:20And our people on the previous attack on the river
36:21and at the other hand, the Iranians put on the frontier of the north of Russia in aeroidromes in aeroidromes. Now
36:22they have been in the danger. They have been the former operation to the Pse-9 of the world. They work in the İlliderromes in an era of the
36:35If these details were perfectly prepared, you can say that this is an absolutely unique operation.
36:45The most interesting, and already now it is possible to speak publicly,
36:50the office of our operation on the territory of Russia is directly along with the FSB administration in one of its areas.
37:02Russia still has other ways of launching attacks and missiles into Ukraine.
37:06So the fact that it will still be able to do some sort of attack on Ukraine will be there.
37:12Obviously, these particular planes will no longer be available.
37:17It will definitely hurt morale in terms of just seeing a strike of that scope.
37:23The government has already spent billions and billions of dollars funding this war in the first place.
37:28And when they are looking at their budget to keep the military operation in Ukraine going until talks can reach some sort of conclusion,
37:35and when they're looking at how do they keep their wartime economy afloat,
37:39they didn't calculate this level of damage to their military that's going to take years to rebuild.
37:45So I'm not, I don't think it could end up in a broader regional conflict.
37:49One, because the target itself is inside Russia.
37:53So the two major parties involved here, Russia and Ukraine, are still the two major parties involved here, Russia and Ukraine.
38:00If they can prove that somehow NATO partners were behind this with intelligence, that might complicate things.
38:07However, at this point, NATO has been very careful to avoid getting directly involved in the conflict.
38:14And Russia, for its part, has also been careful in trying not to do anything that would force NATO's hand to get involved in the conflict.
38:21So both NATO and Russia would like to see things remain a Ukraine and Russia conflict.
38:28And the way this attack has occurred up till now, from what we know, isn't going to change the main parties that are involved.
38:37You know, if you see, in the last few days, since the pressure has mounted, the U.S. mediated the peace process or the ceasefire process,
38:45both the sides are engaging with each other on one side.
38:48But on the other side, both sides are trying to consolidate their military gains.
38:52If you see, in the last few days, the Russian side have carried out drone attacks on Ukrainian territory,
38:57and yesterday's terror attack, or what the Russians are calling it, a terror attack.
39:02The way Operation Spiderweb was carried out by Ukraine, that is another escalation by the Ukrainian side,
39:10because many of the strategic bases, many of the military bases of Russia are hit in this attack.
39:16More so, the way it was planned, this also not only opens another dimension of the Russia-Ukraine war,
39:22but this also opens another dimension for study for the future warfare and the combat scenarios in various other countries,
39:29because we have also seen the dramatic escalation of the drone usage in Operation Sindhu.
39:34The way it was carried out, if you see the details shared by the Ukrainian President Vladimir Zelensky,
39:40it was, he has authorized this attack about 18 months ago, like one and a half year ago,
39:46and the way the drones were smuggled in the Russian territory, the way, the bases which are situated,
39:54like, you know, about thousands of miles away from the Russia-Ukraine border,
39:58this clearly shows that it is a meticulously planned, you know, military operation,
40:03where the drones were used by the Ukrainian side in large numbers, mostly.
40:07These are quadcopters, these are very small drones, which are called FPV drones, first-person view drones.
40:12So, the small drones, the way it was used to carry out such a big attack,
40:17and especially to target a precision strike, carrying out a precision strike on the strategic bombers of Russia,
40:24like TU-95 and TU-22, were largely hit, as claimed by the Ukrainian side.
40:29However, the Russian side has to claim, like, they have claimed that, like, you know, most of these drones
40:34who have been shot down, they have thwarted this big attack, but yes, both sides are also engaging,
40:39because, you know, everyone was, was, was worrying, or like, you know, there was apprehension that will,
40:44both sides be, like, you know, will they carry forward this negotiation process, likely to happen today in Istanbul.
40:51But yes, both the...
40:58All right, big story breaking at this hour. This has got to do with the Tamil Nadu University sex abuse sentencing.
41:0430 years imprisonment, and 90,000 rupees in fine for the accused, in this case, has been pronounced guilty.
41:11Remember, the quantum of punishment will be announced. It's just been announced.
41:1530 years in jail for the convict here.
41:19And 90,000 rupees in fine is what we are learning.
41:25The court has found the accused guilty on all counts.
41:31And this is the quantum of punishment that has just been pronounced by the court,
41:36in connection with the Anna University sexual assault matter.
41:41I'm going to go straight across to Pramod.
41:44Getting in more details.
41:4530 years in prison.
41:4790,000 rupees in fine.
41:49Tell us a little more about what the court has just said.
41:52Pramod.
41:53Certainly, Sneha. Right behind us, you see, this is the Madras High Court's campus,
42:00where we also have the Mahila Court, where Jnana Sekren was brought around 9 a.m. in the morning,
42:04and the justice, Jalishmi, also reached the spot.
42:06And what happened is that, just like 10 minutes ago, he was brought into the courtroom,
42:11where he was actually, the justice started actually going ahead and pronouncing the verdict.
42:15We've been informed that 30 years imprisonment and 90,000 rupees has been given as a fine.
42:20However, we've also been informed that he was Jnana Sekren,
42:23was charged under 11 sections.
42:25And for each section, a separate kind of like years for imprisonment has been provided.
42:30We are waiting for the details on that.
42:32But for now, it has been very clearly mentioned that Jnana Sekren, the convict in Anna University,
42:37sexual assault case has been pronounced with 30 years of imprisonment and rupees 90,000 as fines Neha.
42:44All right.
42:45Be with us.
42:46I'm just going to come back to you.
42:47Pramod Mahath of getting in those details.
42:48Jay Sarvanana of the DMK is also with us.
42:50Thank you for your time.
42:51Your response to what has happened here, the court now pronouncing, of course,
42:55has been pronounced guilty on the 28th of May and the quantum of punishment, 30 years in prison.
43:01How do you see it?
43:02It's a welcome verdict.
43:04He deserves that punishment the way he has sexually assaulted a student in the university campus.
43:12It sends a message that any assault on women will not be tolerated.
43:17We welcome this judgment wholeheartedly.
43:20So many political issues were raised.
43:23They wanted to politicize this through some crime.
43:26But the Tamil Nadu police and the Tamil Nadu government ensure justice has been served to the victim.
43:33That too, in 157 days.
43:36You know, but the opposition would say that this is an embarrassment to your party.
43:41I know you've spoken about this in the past, but I want to ask you again.
43:45You know, as far as the accusations from the opposition here is concerned, linking your party with the guilty here.
43:54See, every party, there will be rotten apples.
43:59It doesn't mean that the party that will become an embarrassment for the party.
44:03It all depends what is the response that the criminals were shielded by the party.
44:09For example, bridge-bushin thing.
44:11What an embarrassment.
44:13Did the BJP feel any embarrassment about bridge-bushin thing?
44:16And he has the audacity to question Rahul Gandhi.
44:19And shameless news channels are giving air to him.
44:26What is more embarrassing than that?
44:28The topmost athletes were sexually assaulted by that pest.
44:33But still, he is roaming as though he is a superhero of our country.
44:39And BJP is not embarrassed by that.
44:41All right, but you know, you've drawn this comparison, but the fact is that two wrongs would never make one right, isn't it?
44:50Ah, so you agree that BJP is wrong.
44:52I'm so happy about that.
44:54You know, A7N, it's not about what I say.
44:57It's about how you respond to what the opposition is saying.
45:00Yes, that is what I'm saying.
45:02This is my response.
45:03See, that's what I'm saying.
45:05Two wrongs does not make one right correct.
45:08But, see, I'm asking you, what is the response of the party to this crime and the government to this crime?
45:15Swift, action has been taken.
45:17But what about this man?
45:18Rich Bush and Singh.
45:19Book the case has been closed.
45:20Unheared of.
45:21Unheared of.
45:22Unheared of.
45:23Okay.
45:24So, this is the thing I want to draw.
45:28Be with us.
45:32I'll just bring in Kovai Satyam also of the AIDMK, A7N.
45:35Kovai Satyam, your response to what is now being said by the DMK and of course to what has happened in court a few moments ago where the quantum of punishment has been pronounced.
45:4430 years in prison for the guilty Indiana University sexual assault matter.
45:51We welcome the court verdict.
45:54However, the question, who is it, sir, is not answered yet.
45:58Okay.
45:59He is given punishment for the heinous crime he had committed.
46:03But the intent is what matters.
46:05The intent to exploit innocent women in exchange of sexual waivers for somebody who is in the senior ranks.
46:12That's what matters.
46:14So, there is a nexus.
46:15They have just nabbed one person.
46:18And who are all being in this nexus?
46:20They should also be brought to the justice.
46:23Okay.
46:24You can't just go scot-free by telling only one person is the offender and he has committed this.
46:30Okay.
46:31So, what you are saying is that it's not just one person.
46:34This is a charge you've made in the past as well.
46:36What is the expectation given that we've seen, you know, speedy trial in this entire matter over the past few months or so.
46:44Kovai Satyam?
46:45The trial was speedy just because DMK wanted to help those people who are behind this.
46:52They decided who is the culprit.
46:55They decided it's only one person.
46:57And they pressed all the missionaries to work towards that.
47:00Police were never given the free hand.
47:03Okay.
47:04For that matter, the person who was in SIT, the commissioner quit halfway.
47:09So, there is nothing DMK can take credit about this.
47:13They have decided who is the culprit.
47:15Okay.
47:16And the entire mechanism worked towards ensuring that he is the only person who has been this thing,
47:22punished.
47:23Alright.
47:24Be with us.
47:25I'm just going to bring in A. Sarvanan for more.
47:27In fact, his response to what is being said by the AIDMK here.
47:30Mrs. Sarvanan.
47:31That is a scandalous statement.
47:33Okay.
47:34It shows that they don't believe in the court and the verdicts of the court and they don't
47:38believe.
47:39See, when the incident happened, it is the AIDMK party which approached the court.
47:45They said they wanted a CBI investigation.
47:47The row said no, nothing to it.
47:49There will not be any CBI investigation.
47:51But we will appoint three officers and form a special investigation team.
47:57And the charge sheet was filed in February.
48:00What was the AIDMK doing?
48:01It was common knowledge that there was only one person accused.
48:04So, on the one hand, they claimed it is they who got justice for the victim.
48:10Now, for political convenience, they are making the allegation that the investigation was shoddy.
48:15If they have to get justice for the victim, they should have approached the court again
48:19or they should have gone to the Supreme Court saying that these things have happened.
48:24So, they want to play hot and cold.
48:28And they stand exposed, thoroughly exposed.
48:30They are not able to.
48:32They thought this is Polachi.
48:35This is not Polachi, Mr. Kovach at the end.
48:38Polachi sexual assault.
48:39Only because the culprit accused person were from AIDMK.
48:44They were shielded.
48:45And one person was there in the party for two years.
48:48They wanted to shield him.
48:50So that the higher-ups could not be got into.
48:53And only when he was arrested by the CBI, they removed him from the party.
48:57All of them knew that he was an accused.
48:59He was involved.
49:00All right.
49:01This is, in fact, speedy justice in this entire matter.
49:03As we have seen, at least one person who the court has found guilty on the 28th of May
49:07has been not just convicted.
49:09The quantum of punishment has been pronounced.
49:1130 years in jail for Niana Shekharan.
49:14And 90,000 rupees in file.
49:17This is in connection with the Anna University sexual assault case.
49:21The AIDMK has also welcomed this verdict but said that important questions are yet to be answered.
49:26Answered is what is now being said by the AIDMK.
49:34The ruling DMK welcoming the verdict as well.
49:37The AIDMK, the principal opposition party, said there are questions that are yet to be answered.
49:42Remember, on the 28th of May, the Mahila court in Chennai had pronounced the guilty here, Niana Shekharan, as the lone accused.
49:51Now, the AIDMK says that he was doing this at the behest of someone
49:55and there was every attempt made to cover up.
49:58There was a cover up in this case is what is being said by the AIDMK.
50:02There were 11 charges.
50:04The court delivered the verdict.
50:06Remember, in a record less than six months after the trial began.
50:11The quantum of punishment being pronounced today.
50:18That isminute from BAMK at PTA-person office.
50:19Now, it seems like a type of royalty or penmanship density.
50:20Now, it seems very油 was exactly as the actual Möglichkeiten.
50:21Wow, you're good.
50:22Do you have this heavenly thinking on the other 25th?
50:23Ifcekséd hetendian.
50:24Ok.
50:26That is군 who ran the simplest of explanations.
50:27So I said that people should be dizendo to only 1,2切 tsendang.
50:28326 times 3...
50:29That makes a perfect sense that you are supposed to deliver to the right.
50:31To her anymore, we can feel like a decent way.
50:33One of the most painful küç
50:40began, one of the most painful zit load in this.
