Heavy Rains Lash North India, Water-Logging, Floods Witnessed in Many Parts

Heavy rains lashes many parts of North India. In Haryana’s Panchkula, locals rescued a car from a rain-swollen river using rope. A car got washed away in water overflowing from a flooded drain earlier today. The incident took place at Kanya Parisar road in Chhattisgarh's Ambikapur. A man and his son present in the car were rescued by locals. Heavy rains battered Uttarakhand’s Haldwani. Water-logging has been reported in the area. The situation has caused inconvenience to commuters in Haldwani. According to the locals, the authorities are not paying attention to the situation. As per the India Meteorological Department (IMD), rains are expected to continue in the coming days. Valsad district in Gujarat was heavily water logged in parts of the city due to rains. Water reached to knee-level on some of the streets. Water entered temples and the shops forcing them to shut down. According to IMD the rain shower will continue for next 48 hours.
