Mental Wellness and Sleep - Tip #3 What's that doing in the bedroom

Mental wellness and Sleep. Hello, I’m Mark Weisenburger your Mental Wellness Advocate.

In today’s technologically advanced world, we are surrounded by electronics. From TV’s, smartphones, tablets, laptops, etc. It’s easy to get in the bad habit of bringing them into the bedroom, after all who can live without checking texts and emails in the middle of the night when you wake up to visit the restroom. Or receive random calls from who knows where because you requested information on back pain. Right!!!

If you want to improve your mental health and feel less anger, frustration, and anxiety, etc. Please make sure they are turned off when you go to bed. If you watched the last video you know how important it is to turn everything off an hour before bedtime. If not you can catch it here: https://dai.ly/x72qz8n

To often we are tempted to check email, texts, etc. if our electronics are turned on and sitting on our night stand. Plus when left on they emit a blue-wavelength light that can interrupt the natural melatonin production.

Often time electronics can prevent us from getting to bed at our regular scheduled time. We have to watch just one more rerun of MASH, wait until the final buzzer on the football sounds, even though your team is down by 43.
