The government will be injecting around 11 billion U.S. dollars into the market ahead of the Lunar New Year holiday.
This is an annual measure to help small and mid sized companies with their cash flow, according to the Financial Services Commission on Monday.
About eight billion U.S dollars will be provided in the form of low-interest loans through government-run banks.
And about three billion U.S dollars will flow into the market through the Korea Credit Guarantee Fund, providing credit guarantees for promising SMEs which lack tangible collateral.
The FSC said that it hopes the money supply will help these firms meet payment deadlines and pay their employees holiday bonuses.
