Next month, Koreans celebrate the Lunar New Year holiday of Seollal.
It's when families gather and set up a table of food and drink for ancestral rituals.
Data show that tradition for a family of four, could cost more than 180 U.S. dollars,... an increase of 2-point-3 percent.
The Korea Price Research Center looked at the price of ingredients at 8 traditional markets around the nation.
Among those, the biggest price spike was for apples, pears and jujubes.
They went up by 11-point-9 percent, 30-point-2 and 21-point-1 percent on-year respectively.
Last year's extreme heatwave is the key reason why.
Vegetable prices remained nearly the same, while meat and imported fish got cheaper.
