More Than 1,000 Ballots Likely
Destroyed in NC Congressional Race The District Attorney
of Wake County is
currently investigating
the allegations of voter fraud. The absentee ballots were
likely cast by Democratic
voters in North Carolina’s
9th Congressional District. The DA has had an ongoing
investigation into voter fraud
in the region since 2016. The GOP candidate,
Mark Harris, has an uncertified
lead of about 900 votes over
Democrat Dan McCready. The race has not been
called in favor
of either candidate. Voters allege that door to
door solicitors collected
their ballots, a practice that's
illegal under North Carolina law. McCready had conceded
the race but reversed
his concession on Thursday. Incoming House
Majority leader
Steny Hoyer said House Democratic Leader
Nancy Pelosi said the House
could call for a new election
if the winner wasn't clear.
