South Korea saw an increase in the number of foreign visitors last month, especially from China and Japan.
According to the Korea Tourism Organization, the number of visitors increased 18-point-5 percent on-year to hit 1-point-27 million in September.
Chinese tourists jumped.... 36-point-4 percent on year in September...., largely due to China lifting the ban on tourism to South Korea, which it put in place last year in retaliation against Seoul's deployment of the U.S. THAAD anti-missile system.
The number of Japanese visitors also rose.... 12-point-7 percent on-year... though the growth slowed down somewhat due to natural disasters hitting Japan.
Visitor numbers from other Asian countries and the Middle East also saw a double-digit increase.
