At the National Assembly's final interpellation session,... rival parties clashed over the appointment of education minister Yoo Eun-hae,... a lawmaker of the ruling Democratic Party.
It was her first time fielding questions from lawmakers... following her appointment earlier this week -- which came despite the parliament's failure to adopt a confirmation hearing report... due to objections from the opposition bloc.
They demanded she step down, citing a series of ethical lapses and claiming she lacks required expertise.
The ruling party defended Yoo,... saying she is fit for the job given her experience as a member of the parliament's education committee.
