Over 1 million people marched in Barcelona, and in other parts of Catalonia, for independence on September 11, according to reports.Catalan police, the Mossos, thanked everyone for demonstrating safely and without incident in such a large event on Twitter. Tuesday marked the first National Day of Catalonia since the Catalan regional government launched its own referendum on independence from Spain on October 1 2017.
