Pro-independence protesters gathered in front of the Cathedral of Barcelona on November 8 to rally for the release of political prisoners.Eight Catalan leaders were detained on November 2 following a court ruling that an October independence referendum was illegal. Among those being held in prison are former Deputy Vice President Oriol Junqueras and Interior Minister Joaquim Forn.
