Hawaii residents made preparations for strong winds and heavy rain on Thursday, August 23, in advance of Hurricane Lane making landfall.This video shows workers at a resort in Lahaina attempting to corral flamingos and swans inside ahead of the storm. The clip, taken by a holidaymaker, was filmed on the west side of Maui.The National Weather Service forecasted heavy rain fall and strong winds for the region from August 23 to 24.It issued flash flood warnings for areas on the east side of Maui Island, and for areas on the island of Hawaii.
