Residents Rescue Goats in Hilo as Hurricane Lane Hits Hawaii

Hawaii residents were bracing themselves for the arrival of Hurricane Lane on Thursday, August 23.The storm was forecast to bring as much as 30 inches of rain to some islands, the Weather Channel reported.Alexa Adamson said she filmed her friends rescuing their goats, Thunder and Lightning, from flooding at their home on Chong Street in Kaumana, Hilo.Prior to this, she filmed several other videos of the flooding near her own home in Chong Street. In one clip, she shows how she made her own sandbags from animal feed bags in order to block the water on her driveway. The final clip was filmed on August 22 as heavy rain began to fall.
