Venezuela's northern coast has been rocked by a powerful 7-point-3-magnitude earthquake.
It struck late Tuesday afternoon, local time,.... some 40 kilometers east of the city of Carupano.
The tremor could be felt more than 6-hundred kilometers away in the Caracas,.... where people were evacuated from buildings.
The Pacific Tsunami Warning Center had issued an initial tsunami warning for the Venezuelan coast... but later updated its alert, stating... "there's no tsunami threat from this earthquake."
Although there are reports of building damages and power outages in some areas... no injuries or deaths from the quake were immediately reported.
