A pod of pilot whales had to be rescued from an Icelandic fjord for a second time on August 13, the Iceland Monitor said, after they returned to the shallows of Kolgrafarfjörður only a day after first being herded out to sea.Kontiki Kayaking, which runs trips around west Iceland, posted video of the second incident the following day. “Yesterday around 60 pilot whales got trapped in Kolgrafafjörður on low tide,” they said. “After paddling with them for couple of hours rescue workers from ICE-SAR used the change of tide and herded them back out to open waters of Breiðafjörður bay.”The Icelandic Association for Search and Rescue is commonly known as ICE-SAR.
