A “state of calamity” was declared in areas of the northern, coastal Filipino province of Pangasinan on July 21 after torrential rains brought by Tropical Depression Josie caused widespread flooding, according to local reports.This footage shows flooded streets in Dagupan City, which officials said was among 3 cities and 18 towns affected by the storm.At least 182 families, or 457 people, were evacuated from their homes and sheltered in seven different centers in Dagupan, according to the city’s mayor, Belen Fernandez.The regional government said the Pangasinan Provincial Disaster Risk Reduction Management Office (PDRRMO) had deployed rescue crews to Calasiao, Bugallon and Mangatarem – rural areas that lie just south of Dagupan.The PDRRMO said about 13 families were evacuated from 10 villages in Mangatarem due to rising waters, and that 89 families were rescued from 19 barangays in Calasiao.
