Manila Street Flooded as Typhoon Mangkhut Pounds the Philippines

Roxas Boulevard in the Philippines capital, Manila, was flooded on Saturday, September 15, after Typhoon Mangkhut, known locally as Ompong, made a landfall in northern Luzon, unleashing torrential rain and strong winds.The National Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council (NDRRMC) said an estimated 5.2 million people were within 77 miles of the projected path of Mangkhut.More than 15,000 people from 10 provinces were evacuated on Friday, September 14, NDRRMC said.Mangkhut, said to be the biggest storm on this planet so far in 2018, was expected to hit Hong Kong and southern China in the following days.This video, shared on September 15, shows the floodwater at Roxas Boulevard in Manila.
