U.S. Secretary of Defense James Mattis is scheduled to visit South Korea next week,... to discuss the suspension of joint military exercises.
South Korea's defense ministry confirmed Thursday morning,... that the U.S. defense chief plans to visit South Korea next Thursday,... after his visit to China,... and is expected to discuss issues related to the suspension of joint military exercises.
Mattis is also planning to hold a meeting with U.S. Secretary of State Mike Pompeo and U.S. National Security Advisor John Bolton on Friday morning in Washington,... to discuss the issue.
Earlier this week, the two countries' defense ministries announced that August's annual joint military exercises will be suspended,... but no decision has been made regarding other joint exercises.
