Dramatic footage of rescue attempt of a woman who was swept away at sea

This video shows the the conditions Jersey Fire and Rescue and the RNLI faced during the sea search for missing swimmer Joy Godfray on the evening of Saturday, August 20. In the clip, members of the rescue team are seen battling harsh winds and the huge waves that swept away Joy, who had been paddling - and not swimming - before. The grieving mother of a woman swept out to sea has described her death as a freak accident after she slipped in the sand - while PADDLING. Heartbroken Kim Noble, 56, hit back at cruel jibes on social media that Joy Godfray (corr) 'deserved to die' by swimming in the rough seas. The talented musician was killed the day before her 32nd birthday on Green Island Beach in Jersey last Saturday. Her mother spoke out in response to "hurtful" comments on social media and insisted that Joy had only gone paddling up to her ankles with a friend. She was rapidly pulled backwards into the rough sea and despite efforts to save her by her friend and the RNLI she was pronounced dead at hospital.
