Top diplomats of S. Korea and U.S. agree to keep dialogue momentum alive between Pyongyang and Washington

South Korea's Foreign Minister Kang Kyung-wha held phone talks with her U.S. counterpart Mike Pompeo this morning,... exchanging views on President's Trump's cancellation of the June 12th summit with North Korean leader Kim Jong-un.
According to a press release by Seoul's Foreign Ministry,.... Pompeo briefed Kang in detail on the reasoning behind President Trump's decision.... but made known Washington's determination to continue dialogue with Pyongyang.
Kang stressed that it's necessary to keep up the momentum of dialogue and negotiations.
She noted the statements from President Trump and North Korea's senior diplomat Kim Kye-gwan show the two sides are both willing to stay in communication.
Kang and Pompeo agreed to continue to cooperate to create the right conditions for Pyongyang-Washington talks to take place at a later date.
