Planned U.S. auto tariffs would violate WTO rules: EU

The European Union has criticized the Trump administration's plan to impose tariffs on imported vehicles on the grounds of national security.
The vice president of the European Commission said Thursday that any unilateral U.S. auto tariffs would violate World Trade Organization rules.
The U.S. Commerce Department's probe into foreign cars could lead to a jump in import tariffs similar to those imposed on steel and aluminum in March.
