Karnataka chief minister Siddaramaiah submitted his resignation to the governor today after the election results. He faced defeat in Chamundeshwari constituency and was narrowly ahead in Badami. Meanwhile, HD Kumaraswamy, the JD(S) leader, sought a meeting with the Karanataka governor in the evening after he wrote in a letter that he had accepted Congress's support to form a government in the state. BJP said that Congress had been voted out by the people and yet it was trying to grab power.
