I'm a lucky boy! This is the first close look at the McLaren P1 out there; from how it sounds on startup, to jumping in the passenger seat for a quick ride. The P1 was at Paintshield http://www.paintshield.co.uk to have the ever-compulsory Paint Protection Film to be applied to vulnerable surfaces and as a result I've been fortunate enough to capture some images of the car on film.

With all that bare carbon around the front end, and not to mention the pretty impressive paint quality from McLaren the car was in for some work immediately after delivery to the customer. After shooting a few clips of the car in the workshop it was taken outside including a cold start, hear it moving around and see the mega rear wing in action.

I then jumped into the passenger seat and went off for a small ride... what can I say, the turbo whoosh is amazing, the immediate power delivery is something really special, the space-age feel is crazy and how flat the car holds around corners; this thing is insane!

The other videos you are going to see of this car include a detailed tour looking around it, showing you the interior, inside the various flaps and parts of the car and talking about some of the features. There will also be an extended ride including demonstration and discussing the various technical functions including e-mode, IPAS, DRS and so on. Stay tuned too because the future holds even more exciting P1 videos!
