This is the car we've been waiting for, the brand new Koenigsegg Jesko! Join me for an in depth exploration underneath the skin with none other than Christian von Koenigsegg to truly take in the next generation technology housed in this megacar that carries an ambition to reach 300mph!

The spiritual successor to the Koenigsegg Agera RS is named Jesko, after Christian's father and his support for the company in the early days. 125 units will be created of the car that achieves 1,600hp on E85 (1,280hp on 95 octane) from a 5.0l twin turbo V8 that's homologated until 2026. The trickery starts with the Light Speed Gearbox that features 9 gears and 7 clutches for instant changes and immediately available power from any moment.

Two different versions of the Jesko will be available, the track version you see here with maximum downforce and in fact with 880kg at 250km/h and upwards of 1,000kg as the speed increases. The other option will be a lower downforce package with 400-500kg that could be called "ambition 300" with a target set of 300mph - following up to the 284mph record achieved by the Agera RS.

Ahead of the reveal at the 2019 Geneva Motorshow, I went to Angelholm, Sweden, to the home of Koenigsegg to see the car in the final preparation stages. With the sheer complexity of the technology on offer in the new megacar, who better to explain the details to us than company founder Christian von Koenigsegg himself.
