Our top story this afternoon...
South Korea's foreign minister Kang Kyung-wha is currently holding talks with her Japanese counterpart, Taro Kono at Seoul's foreign ministry,... with the focus on bilateral relations and North Korea's nuclear issue.
The controversial "comfort women deal" and the issue of Japanese citizens abducted by North Korea are also expected to come up.
Kono will also meet President Moon Jae-in at Cheongwadae this afternoon,... and Suh Hoon, the chief of South Korea's National Intelligence Service,... from whom he will hear the latest developments on the inter-Korean summit slated for later this month.
Kono will also pay a visit to Seoul National Cemetery, seen as a move to pay respect to the host nation and its people.
Kono's visit to Seoul is the first by a Japanese foreign minister in over two years.
