Seoul, Washington to expand bilateral economic ties regionally: Foreign Ministry
  • 4 years ago
Officials from South Korea and the U.S. discussed economic cooperation in Seoul this morning.
Seoul's Second Vice Foreign Minister Lee Tae-ho sat down with Keith Krach, an undersecretary on economic affairs from the U.S. State Department.
They are believed to have discussed ways to bolster economic ties, in line with South Korea's New Southern Policy and the Indo-Pacific Strategy of the U.S.
In his opening remarks, Lee said Seoul-Washington bilateral trade and investment has stayed robust despite ongoing uncertainties, giving the recent investment by South Korean firms in the U.S. as an example.
He added that the two countries will further expand their cooperation regionally based on their shared values.
They will sign an joint statement later today.
