Self-Driving Uber Car Kills Woman in Arizona

According to police, a woman was struck and killed by an autonomous Uber vehicle in Tempe, Arizona Sunday night. In a statement on Twitter, Uber wrote, "Our hearts go out to the victim’s family. We’re fully cooperating with @TempePolice and local authorities as they investigate this incident." The company's vehicle pilot program was suspended around this time last year following a crash also in Tempe, though that incident did not result in any injuries.
