Good afternoon, we can expect temperatures to ease in the afternoon with highs around the seasonal averages. The high in Seoul will get up to 5 degrees Celsius,... while Daejeon and Daegu will see 6 degrees Celsius and most parts will be under mostly sunny skies.
As for PyeongChang, we'll get some relief from the deep freeze in the afternoon,... while a mix of snow and rain is in the forecast on Wednesday morning along with much milder temperatures.
In fact, daily highs in Seoul will climb much higher on Wednesday as well, but readings will snap back to below seasonal averages for the start of the Seollal or Lunar New Year holiday.
Speaking of the Lunar New Year holiday, according to the Road Traffic Authority, car accidents are most common on the eve of Seollal or the actual Lunar New Year day especially between 8 PM and midnight. Fatigue and drowsy driving are major causes of traffic accidents so remember to take frequent breaks if you have a long drive.
