Good morning, we'll finally get relief from the deep freeze that's been gripping the Korean peninsula. Temperatures will be 3 to 4 degrees higher than Wednesday so it should feel much more bearable today under plenty of sunshine. In fact, cold wave alerts have been lifted in Seoul.

Checking on today's temperatures, Seoul and Daejeon are waking up to a low of minus 10 and minus 11 degrees Celsius,... while those on Jeju are also having some harsh winter with heavier snowfall than usual... expect to see a mix of rain and snow until the afternoon.

Afternoon highs will rise rapidly, expect to see Seoul at 1 degree Celsius, Daejeon will make it to 4 degrees, Gwangju and Busan will get up to 7 degrees.

Even milder temperatures are on the cards for Friday... and Saturday will also be bearable but another brief cold snap will strike the nation on Sunday and Monday.

Those of you in PyeongChang will notice temperatures jumping nearly 20 degrees from this morning to afternoon under sunny skies and readings will also be generous for the opening ceremony of the Olympics on Friday.

That's Korea for you and here's the international weather for viewers around the world.
