Thomas Fire Scorches Parts of Carpinteria

The Thomas fire scorched areas near Carpinteria on December 12.The fire was the fifth largest in the state’s modern history and covered 234,200 acres. One person died as a result of the fire, according to the Associated Press. Powerful Santa Ana winds and dry conditions aided in the spread of the fire along much of Southern California.
