Arkansas National Guard Survey Extent of Pocahontas Flooding From the Air

Parts of Pocahontas, Arkansas, remained flooded on May 4, due to spillover from the Black River. Rainfall was expected to continue for 24 hours, according to the National Weather Service on that date.They reported “record flood levels,” saying floodwaters had breached levees, resulting in “potentially life-threatening flooding” in a number of area.According to the Department of Defense , more than “120 Arkansas Army and Air National Guardsmen [were] supporting 8 different disaster relief operations” in three counties affected by the floods.This video shows the extent of the flooding from the air on May 4, and Arkansas National Guard Col Damon Cluck, director of military support for the Arkansas National Guard, visiting the scene.
