The US Coast Guard on September 15 assessed the impact of flood damage caused by Storm Florence in the North Carolina City of New Bern.Storm Florence left hundreds stranded in the city early Friday morning, September 14, when it made landfall as a hurricane.Florence weakened as it moved across the Carolinas, and was downgraded to a Tropical Depression by the morning of September 16. The National Weather Service warned that flash flooding and river flooding were expected to get worse on that date as Florence continued to dump rain on some areas.
