For the past 60-or-so years, major party presidential candidates have been invited to attend a number of classified briefings prior to election day.
According to ABC News, the date for Donald Trump’s first has reportedly been set.
On Wednesday, he is expected to visit the FBI office in New York City to hear what the Office of the Director of National Intelligence has to say about the threats currently facing the world.
While concerns about Trump’s access to sensitive information have been raised, intelligence director James Clapper has expressed no doubts about continuing the process.
White House spokesperson Josh Earnest has also noted, “…the administration is confident that they can both provide relevant and sufficient briefings…while also protecting sensitive national security information."
Nonetheless, some Twitter users say they are expecting to read all about the meeting’s juicy secrets over the coming days.
