Zika Birth Defects in U.S. Starting

The Centers for Disease Control have set up a database for Zika-linked pregnancy and birth issues in the United States, and unfortunately, they are already getting their first results. On Thursday, health officials revealed that so far three babies were born with defects linked to the Zika virus. Another three pregnancies were lost due to Zika. The six mothers in question had been exposed to Zika either outside the United States or through having unprotected sex with a male infected with the virus. As of Thursday, the CDC said that no cases of Zika have been reported as originating within the United States. However, they warned that the uptick of mosquito season over the next few months will more than likely lead to cases of Zika coming out of places like Texas and Florida.
