NEW YORK — The New York Police Department has arrested Jerry Maisonette, 29, who they believe aided his 15-year-old girlfriend, Destiny Garcia, in the killing of her mother and her mother's boyfriend.

Police believe Jerry Maisonette, 29, provided a handgun to his 15-year-old girlfriend Destiny Garcia. Garcia told police that on the day of the murder, December 28, her mother beat her "until she was tired."

Garcia then walked to her mother's bedroom and fired several shots at her mother, the second one striking Sanchez in the neck. Her mother's boyfriend, Anderson Nunez, then pounced on Garcia. Maisonette then entered the room and shot Nunez in the back.

Nunez then attacked Maisonette while Garcia ran to the kitchen to grab a knife. Garcia returned to the bedroom where she and Maisonette then stabbed Nunez to death.

On January 3, Garcia confessed to her cousin Justin Valentin, who then notified police of the murder. Garcia has already been charged with the double murder. Charges against Maisonette are pending.
