Ashtu siç pritej dhe pa surpriza, serbët e veriut të Kosovës kanë refuzuar masivisht autoritetin e institucioneve të Prishtinës, në referendumin dy ditor që u zhvillua në katër komuna. Me një pjesëmarrje prej 75.28 për qind, siç raportohet nga mediat serbe, 99.74 për qind e banorëve të këtyre komunave janë shprehur kundër autoriteteve kosovare. Sipas rezultateve paraprake, vetëm 69 banorë, ose 0.26 për qind e votuesve, i janë përgjigjur me PO, pyetjes: "A i pranoni ju institucionet e të ashtuquajturës Republikë e Kosovës?" Rezultatet përfundimtare të votimeve pritet të publikohen të dielën. Procesi në katër komunat, atë të Mitrovicës, Zveçanit, Zubin Potokut dhe Leposaviçit është zhvilluar i qetë dhe pa probleme. Ai nuk është vëzhguar nga asnjë institucion ndërkombëtar, pasi është cilësuar i paligjshëm dhe pa asnjë fuqi vepruese. Referendumi është kundërshtuar edhe nga Beogradi zyrtar, që e ka quajtur për panevojshëm dhe të dëmshëm për Serbinë.

As expected and without surprises, Serbs in northern Kosovo have massively rejected the authority of the institutions in Pristina, the two-day referendum that took place in four municipalities. With a turnout of 75.28 percent, as reported by the Serbian media, 99.74 percent of the residents of these municipalities have declared against the authorities. According to preliminary results, only 69 residents, or 12:26 per cent of voters have answered YES, the question: "Do you accept the institutions of so-called Republic of Kosovo?" Final results of voting are expected to be published on Sunday. Process in four municipalities, that of Mitrovica, Zvecan, Zubin Potok and Leposavic is developed smooth and without problems. He is not monitored by any international institution, as it is considered illegal and without force action. The referendum was rejected by Belgrade, which has called for unnecessary and harmful to Serbia.
