ST. PETERSBURG, FLORIDA — Police in St. Petersburg, Florida arrested a suspect in an armed robbery on Thursday afternoon, and found a mask, gun, and the man's 18-month-old daughter in the car with him, NBC 6 reported.

According to the Tampa Bay Times, Edward Melendez, 30, robbed a Quik Thru convenience store, holding the clerk at gunpoint while wearing a mask. A witness called police around 1:48 p.m. to report the robbery and gave a description of the vehicle Melendez was driving.

He was pulled over minutes after the call was made, NBC 6 reported. Melendez is being charged with child endangerment, carrying a concealed weapon and for being a felon in possession of a firearm, among other charges. After further investigation the young girl was returned to her mother's custody, once police determined that she had no connection with the crime.
