Argentina: Scioli, Macri Offer Votes Counterposed Policies
  • 9 years ago
In Sunday's Argentine presidential elections, the two major contenders -Daniel Scioli of the ruling left-of-center Front for Victory and Mauricio Macri of the conservative Cambiemos slate- offer voters radically different alternatives. Front runner Scioli has pledged to raise the minimum income needed to not pay income taxes to US$3,100 monthly. Macri says he'll meet with vulture fund holdouts to cut a new deal and hinted at a rapprochement with London, at odds with Argentina over the Malvinas Islands. teleSUR
