Ecuador: Opposition Not Willing to Debate Bills

In Ecuador, the opponents of an inheritance tax and a capital gains tax proposed by President Rafael Correa say they will not debate the bills and will continue to protest. They are also calling for a referendum to remove Correa from office. Meanwhile Correa has called for a national debate on the issues that tax only the wealthiest members of society and restrict land speculation. The President temporarily withdrew the bills that he had presented to the National Assembly in an effort to discourage violent right-wing protests and promote dialogue. Liz Scherffius reports from Quito for teleSUR.
