Indian Woman says Sikhs Deserve to be Killed at India Day 2015 - 1

The Sikh community went to peacefully protest against Spring India Day 2015 which was held on June 6, 2015, on the 31st anniversary of a horrific Indian government implemented genocide of the Sikhs and attack on of our holiest shrines, Sri Harmandir Sahib (Golden Temple).

An Indian woman approached one of the protestors and began shouting, so I tried to intervene and explain to her that the organizers of the event had not tried to come to any understanding with us when we asked for a space where we could also discuss our history. Organizers said that we would not be allowed to discuss social justice, the Indian government, or details about killings/torture.

She began to tell me that Sikhs were completely inactive in Punjab, and all over India, and I told her how Singh were being shot at, tortured, beat, and killed in Jammu, India, and how the internet has been blocked. She replied by saying we deserve it.

At India Day 2015, we held up signs with slogans such as "Never Forget 1984" and "Punish the Mass Murderers of 1984." We even passed out fliers that detailed the chronology of events from June 1, 1984 to June 6, 1984 as well as the current illegal detention of Sikh political prisoners in India.

This is Dharam Yudh Morcha II. We will not be silent.
