Rescue dogs have played an important role in locating survivors trapped in the rubble from Nepal's devastating 7.9 magnitude earthquake.

A Norwegian rescue crew and sniffer dog were able to free a 27-year-old woman who had been trapped in a collapsed building in Kathmandu for five days, reported Aftenposten.

The Israeli Defense Forces has released video filmed from the perspective of one of its rescue dogs showing the challenges faced on the ground.
