Brutal murder: missing Japanese school girl found dismembered in plastic bags
  • 9 years ago
Police in Japan’s Kobe city found the body of a missing 6-year-old dismembered in several plastic bags on Tuesday.

First grader Mirei Ikuta was supposed to meet with a friend at her house after school, but never showed up. She was last seen in surveillance camera footage walking past a convenience store near her friend’s house. The umbrella she had with her then was found in front of her friend’s house.

Her remains were found this Tuesday night in five different plastic bags tossed in a bush near the elementary school she attended. The victim’s body parts, including her head, upper torso, and legs were recovered, but her waist has not yet been found. DNA testing has confirmed the body to be Ikuta’s.

Police arrested 47-year-old suspect Yasuhiro Kimino on Wednesday, whose health insurance card was found in one of the bags.
